Dedicated to the forgotten children of
Central Asia
The Association of Christian Schools of Central Asia (ACSCA) is a non-profit organization formed in 2000 to unite the efforts of several international and domestic organizations in serving the needy children of Central Asia through the opening and operation of:
ACSCA projects now serve
hundreds of poor children in northern Kyrgyzstan, formerly part of the USSR (see
flag and seal). ACSCA helps
provide for basic needs, physical (food, clothing, shelter, health
care, and
education) and moral-spiritual (moral education, a chance to study the
Bible--assuming parental consent--and to experience respect and care from Christian role models).
It is hard for many people in the West to understand
that without our schools, most of our students would not be able to go to
school at all: even the costs of public school (for food, textbooks and
building repair), approximately $10/month, are prohibitive for very many
families in Central Asia. Some of our students, ages 12-13, had never
attended school before our schools made it possible for them to learn to read
and write.
ACSCA intends to expand its work into central and southern Kyrgyzstan, then into other nations of Central Asia such as Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, then westward toward the Caucasus and Turkey. Believing that if we “train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6), we hope and pray that this holistic ministry to the next generation will bear fruit not only in changed lives, but in a changed region of the world, as our children take their places as contributing, moral, honest, well-educated adults in the emerging Central Asia of the 21st century.
ACSCA currently administers five projects, all in northern Kyrgyzstan.
